Note: M-Series Mac users do NOT need to use Rosetta anymore. This and all future releases will universally support all macs running macOS version 13.3.1 and higher.

Release Notes:

What to Expect from Public Beta v1:

  • TestFlight public beta v2 is version 1.0.0 build 7.
  • I re-built and re-linked all core libraries universal libraries, which means that Kassandra is now a universal macOS app that can run on all Intel and M-Series macs natively (without Rosetta!).
  • I found a workaround for the same bug that is currently blocking Nreal\’s Nebula app from running on M-Series macs (a potential macOS bug), BUT that means I had to require the minimum version 13.3.1.
  • The source of many crashes in public release v1 was the broken API in macOS version 13.3.1– as long as you are running the latest release and authorize Kassandra with the proper permissions, it should run (local hardware specs may affect performance)
  • This version of the application is the same as beta version 1, except more stable and fully rebuilt as a universal app. Follow the instructions from beta 1 for testing.

Known Issues / Under Development:

Memory Leaks
Jumping back and forth from the device connection panel and the virtual desktop panel may cause memory leaks due to retain cycles preventing the SceneKit elements from being released.

Other Features Not Enabled
Everything on the sidebar is disabled in this release because I needed to focus on the core features first.
